What would you do differently?: Know the course better Transition 1
Comments: Ran with shoes on, had to move out of the way of someone almost falling while trying to mount their bike. What would you do differently?: Get bike fitness up Bike
Comments: started slower than normal to make sure I wasn't dead at the finish. Got passed.... a lot! finished 2 min. behind my overall bike goal of 45 min. Just didn't put enough saddle time in. Got frustrated during the ride from lack of bike fitness. Transition 2
Comments: Almost ran past my station. stopped right at it. Still in bike shoes. bike fell onto bike beside it and had to re-rack. My run shoes were too tight and struggled a bit to get them on. What would you do differently?: Have more room to rack bike, and have shoes a bit looser Run
Comments: My swim training buddy had already made the turn and was coming back when I saw him with me at about the 1 1/4 mile mark. I got frustrated at that point and didn't continue to push. With a mile to go, I looked at my watch and pushed out a 6:37 last mile What would you do differently?: run my race and not focus on surroundings Post race
Warm down: walk, gatorade, deep breaths. Event comments: You finish the race on dirt. All of the post race tents, etc. were on dirt and rock. Really no place to sit unless you went to post race tent to eat. Very crowded there Last updated: 2012-01-09 12:00 AM
