Swim
Comments: This wasn't as good as I had planned, but I thought this swim was 100 yds shorter. Forgot it was 1600 meters. Kept thinking it was 1500....Was 3:56 faster than '10. What would you do differently?: Not much, was an ok swim. Would like to get my swims under the 2min pace mark, but getting out and running back to the start 4x's, probably was the difference.... Transition 1
Comments: All transition time was in the bike. Had a good transition... Bike
Comments: Had a good bike, really pushed hard and didn't feel like I could have done much better with where I'm at with my fitness. My appr. bike time was 1:10:05, according to my cyclometer. Would have made my trasition times, on avg, about 1:20 and my bike pace closer to about 20.6 mph. Was 5:05 faster than '10. Transition 2
Comments: put my right sock on upside down..... Run
Comments: Really felt good coming off the bike. Felt like I pushed hard the whole run and constantly evaluating my effort and I was hard on myself about pushing the pace. Was 4:22 faster than '10. Post race
Event comments: Was 13:23 faster than '10 race time total. Felt like I did as well as I could. I pushed hard and felt a lot closer to dialing in the Olympic distance and felt some mental tools I've picked up running a marathon and doing 2 1/2 ironmans, has really helped with effort levels, both physically and mentally. Was very humbled by my placing as there was some very tough competition at this race. 3:05 seperated 5th thru 8th place in my age group. Last updated: 2012-01-15 12:00 AM
