  • Comments: Was 13:23 faster than '10 race time total. Felt like I did as well as I could. I pushed hard and felt a lot closer to dialing in the Olympic distance and felt some mental tools I've picked up running a marathon and doing 2 1/2 ironmans, has really helped with effort levels, both physically and mentally. Was very humbled by my placing as there was some very tough competition at this race. 3:05 seperated 5th thru 8th place in my age group.

  • Comments: This was a good race for me to do because I havent raced a Tri in almost 1.5 years. I was rusty and unsure how it would feel to put the swim-bike-run together. Looking forward to doign some bigger races this year!

  • Comments: Good mom and pop type race. Venue is nice course is good but needs a little more exposure and organization. The vols on the run course did a great job keeping traffic stopped but didn't pass out any water or the jels that were on the course.

  • Comments: Most fun I've had at a tri yet. Drastic changes I've made in the past 3 weeks to my diet really paid off. No "sugar crash" during or after the race. Felt alot better the rest of the day and the next day than I ever had after a sprint. Looks like I found the best plan of attack for Soma '10, I hope. Met alot of great people yesterday, also got tips from some fellow athletes that I really appreciated. Also, went and introduced myself to a fellow BT'er(phxphotog) and had great conversation with him. It was his 1st tri. Most fun tri I've done so far. Really has me pumped for Tempe Intrntnl in May!

  • Comments: My first Olympic distance race. My goal was just to finish and I did. I did not hold back in the swim but it was disorienting and distracting to be fighting through with everyone else for the first time. I had always had my own lane in previous races. I took it easy on the bike segment to save myself for the run since I expect that to be difficult for me. But in the end I did fine on the run. I was a little slow but I ran most of it without walking. The course was excellent and I hope to do more races on that course.
