Run
Comments: I was running with my husband who was still recovering from an 8 hour event a few weeks ago. We went out at a very easy pace and kept pretty even splits through the whole race. By mile 7 or 8 it was starting to get pretty warm; there was a big gap between the water stop before mile 8 and then not until mile 10. I tried to get him to spped up a bit the last 2 miles but he didn't have the legs for it. It was close to a 1/2 mary PR for him and a PR for him for this race :) What would you do differently?: nothing really, we were out there for fun, I have another 1/2 marathon next weekend, of the 4 years I've done this race, this was the most fun I've had, just taking it easy and running the whole race with my husband, talking to some friends I saw along the way Post race
Warm down: got our food and our gear bags, made our way out to the beach to meet up with friends and other BT'rs, a great day out on the beach but the surf was still up Event comments: This is a pretty fun race, but I don't know if I would keep doing it if it weren't in my backyard. The course is very crowded so it's hard to PR here, plus it's usually pretty warm. I think they could add another water stop or two along the course. They did run out of water at the finish line, but they did have some Amino Vital sports drink and water bottles at the food area. The finish line activities could use more organization. All in all it's a fun race. :) Last updated: 2006-05-07 12:00 AM
