Swim
Comments: Start was a bit difficult. Narrow start until the group cleared the dock then I could get spread out and start passing. What would you do differently?: Start closer to the front and get to the outside quicker. Try and avoid other swimmers until I get more comfortable in open water. Secondly I would go a bit easier at first to make sure I had enough at the end. Felt tired for the home stretch. Transition 1
Comments: First time in T1. Seemed to go smoothly. What would you do differently?: Maybe wear the tri top under the suit, wet upper body made pulling the top down take more time. Need more practice getting into the pedals, took a while to click in. Bike
Comments: Really tried to stay out of everyone's way. Made sure to check behind me when passing slower riders. I just wanted a decent ride, not too hard. I wanted to make sure I had enough left for the run. Stayed in the aero position for most of the ride. Felt good. What would you do differently?: Had pleanty left for the run so I probably could have gone harder. Transition 2
Comments: Went smoothly. What would you do differently?: Nothing that I can think of. Run
Comments: Best run pace so far. Able to keep a fast pace (for me) the entire run. Spilt includes a transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing, one of my best runs ever and that was after a swim and ride! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Uncertainty, being that this was my first tri. Event comments: Finished 49/83 in my age group and 492/824 overall. My original goal was to just finish but as I got closer to the race and was confident that I would finish I was hoping I would finish in the top 50%-60% and I definately did that. Very happy with this race! Last updated: 2006-05-07 12:00 AM
