Pre-race routine:

Up early for the hour+ drive... bagel with almond butter and water for the ride up... but today I had my two oldest daughters with me... AWESOME!
Event warmup:

Swam a couple hundred yards to get the open water anxiety out of the way!

Probably my best attempt at drafting and navigation was MUCH improved over previous events. I think the swim was longer than 400 yards.
What would you do differently?:

I only swam at about RPE7... could have picked it up a notch in hindsight.

Threw the chain at the turn around... that is twice now and both times on this particular course... cost me at least a minute! But this was my best bike effort to date.. 254 watts avg!
What would you do differently?:

Climbs appeared a bit slower than when I have done this course on my road bike... need to improve climbing skills on tri bike... been riding the AFB roads which are flat... need more hill training!

Took feet out of shoes too early... rode last bit including a climb with feet on top of shoes. Thought seat was hooked on rack and let go... BOOM... it landed on my shin leaving a nice goose egg... must not have gotten my shoes on right... 3 blisters during short run! T2 was fast but sloppy...
What would you do differently?:

Attention to detail when racking, check out course BEFORE I do it and get my shoes on better!!

Run more! Not doing an early season half marathon has my running behind where I was at this time last year!

Banana... caught up with some friends that I only see at races!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not much today... pretty solid effort all around! Happy with the result but there is always room to improve!
