  • Comments: Great race. Lots of fun. It's relatively competitive since the sprint is the only option for this race. The swim distance was way off, but wasn't a big deal. Will do again next year.

  • Comments: Great race as always. Made an absolute rookie mistake and left the timing chip at home. Took my times from my garmin and the race director approved it. Only penalty was that I was ineligible for any awards, but that's okay. Would have needed to get 13' off my time for 3rd place. The accident on the bike course was pretty bad. A downhill biker collided with an uphill climbing car (who changed lanes to pass). The biker was motionless when I passed and only 1 race volunteer was on the site assessing. I was in the downhill when I came on it and was running the brakes to burn off speed. A couple miles later, I was brought to a complete stop for the arrival of the ambulance and fire truck. Honestly, after seeing that, it really changed my perspective on the race. The good news is that he was awake when loaded on the stretcher. Still, the race was fantastic as always!

  • Comments: Really great race. I really enjoyed the new venue, but I did not enjoy the swim entrance/exit. Those need to be fixed. Everything else was very smooth!

  • Comments: well organized on race day. last minute course change, while not a bad change, was a little annoying only because not what i had been training for . the in and out of the swim being so muddy was also a bit annoying.

  • Comments: Someone planned the XTERRA offroad 5k/10k/21k at the same time, 100yrds from the finish of our race. Traffic turned into a nightmare getting in. Because of this, transition stayed open longer, and the race was delayed by 10-15mins to allow the xterra's to get started and clear before we took out. Otherwise, great race, even with the heat.

  • Comments: Oh, somehow I wound up still getting 3 out of 4 in the Athena category. They gave me some sort of estimated finish time. Mine was 2:04:19. And the last chick in Athena to finish was 2:05:09. Really not sure how they came up with that time. Some of my buddies thought it was HILARIOUS that I beat someone without finishing the race. Anyways, very sucky race. And I kinda just want to forget it ever happened.

  • Comments: Team Magic puts on great races. I have raced with them nearly 10 times and I am amazed at how easy things flow. Even with the rain and storms, they had a contingency plan and the athletes best interest. I HIGHLY recommend doing any of their races. They know what they are doing.
