Swim
What would you do differently?: Don't conserve too much energy, my first tri I was worried I would be too tired to bike/run after swimming too hard Transition 1
Comments: wearing a trisuit makes transitions fast. Also don't wear socks What would you do differently?: put bike closer to exit gate, hard to find after swim confusion (light headed) Bike
Comments: Cycling is my strongest discipline, on men's aluminum Allez with upgraded parts/rims. Passed a lot of people, nobody passed me. At a sharp turn the volunteer was afraid I'd lose control as I hit it fast and hard, but I was confident. What would you do differently?: rent a tri bike w/ aero bars and helmet. Maybe learn how to mount cyclocross style and have shoes already clipped to pedals. Transition 2
Comments: Haven't mastered loosening shoes on the fly yet. Run
Comments: Just started running 1 month before my first tri. My weakest discipline, very slow but continuously ran. Lots of people passed me. What would you do differently?: Keep dieting and training! Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Excess weight, inexperience Event comments: All women race with options for super sprint, duathlon. Great for first time. Last updated: 2012-03-12 12:00 AM
