Comments: Paula and I had a great canoe leg. We caught up to the wave that left 2 minutes before we did and passed some of them. We were straight as an arrow and manuvered the rapid areas really well! What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 1
Comments: We were quick out of the canoe, hit the port-a-pots, changed into our running shoes, a quick gel and water, then off to the run. What would you do differently?: nothing Bike
Comments: The bike leg was actually the last leg of the race. I was out on the bike first and got to about mile 9 before Paula caught up, then drafted her (legal for teams in this race) the rest of the way to the finish - she is an animal on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Quick change of shoes, helmet on, reset my computer (forgot to do that when I set up transition) and off to the bike course. Run
Comments: My lungs were burning, and legs toast by the time I got to the top of the HILL!! Other that that it was a good run. Paula was able to hang with me for the 1st 3 miles then had to back it off a little. Post race
Warm down: Walking What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, we gave it all we had! Event comments: The 1st time we did this event, it was great! We had a blast! Got 1st in the female-female team division! Last updated: 2012-03-12 12:00 AM

Up at 6:30am, pack up the vehicle, load my bike, eat a banana and drink some gatorade, drive to the event, set up my transition area next to my teammate Paula.
Nothing really since the 1st leg was to canoe.
