  • Comments: I went into this race with the attitude "I'm just here to have fun, I don't care how I do." I wound up having my strongest race ever. For the first time I felt, the whole time, like I was *racing*. Not training, not jogging, not being a poseur in spandex. I was pushing my limits and loving it. There's definitely lessons to be learned here.

  • Comments: Post race food was good and they give a nice draw string backpack. The race was pretty well organized. I believe this was like the 30th running of the triathlon. I enjoyed it.

  • Comments: For a $60 race I was disappointed that T-Shirts were an additional $15. I thought the food rationing at the end was kind of chincy.

  • Comments: We had a great time......It was organized very nicely. Not as tight of a crowd as you get at a real triathlon and just doing the TTT last week that was disappointing. I always enjoy giving shout outs to my fellow triathletes. On the canoe there was a male/female team and they were singing and I joined in.

  • Comments: Went over and had a plate of BBQ and green beans and a cookie after the race. Band was playing while we ate and waited on Tom and Schnee to come across. THey started 12 minutes before us and we finished over 20 minutes ahead so that felt good to beat them. Schnee was one of my old FB coaches from High School so that was really good. heh.

  • Comments: Other than I suck at canoeing the race was fun. The run is challenging with the killer mo fo hill at the end. The bike course was easy to follow. It is a team event so your time is combined with your partner. Lotsa and lotsa people there quite an atmosphere. One complaint was the food. Very small selection and very tiny portions. I just finished a 2:45 minute race and I could get one coke and approximately 20 rigatoni noodles and two meatballs. My partner and I busted out after a bit and hit some fast food on the way outta ft.ancient

  • Comments: This IS the oldest triathlon in the midwest, maybe the country. The place is quaint enough to feel outdoorsy without the feel of corporate America, but it's run like a fine watch. The course is as challenging as you want to make it, except the hill at the end, which will push even the walkers. If you want to lollygag the entire thing, it will let you. If you want to push yourself, it can destroy you. You decide. The competition is fierce, but it's so huge, if you want to just go out and have fun, you can. There are so many different catigories, it's really for everyone. I think there is even a woodchuck/muskrat division. Come one, come all, it's fun, fierce, or crazy. The after race food and entertainment is second to none I've seen yet.
