Swim
Comments: Swim felt really good in the new wetsuit. I was passing people left and right and am pretty certain no one passed me. Hit the shore and the actual time out of the water was 9:37 but then there is a good long run out to Transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Lovely run on the gravel. Just isn't worth it, yet, to worry about flip flops, etc. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Was really looking forward to the bike this year. I've been focusing on cadence and it really paid off. Knocked off 3 minutes on this course from last year. Potentially could have gone a bit faster on the front half, but was still trying to figure out what I was doing, with cadence, and it worked. Fastest time on this course yet. What would you do differently?: Push it a bit harder on the downhills on the front half. Transition 2
Comments: Got behind a slow person in transition and just no room to get around them. Could have potentially gotten a few more seconds faster, possibly up to 10. Other than that, a large transition and I'm happy with the performance. Considering I threw on socks. I'm actually getting pretty good at doing that. What would you do differently?: Maybe cut down a different aisle to get around him? Run
Comments: Mercy this was hot. There is a HUGE hill that you go down and then right back up again out of T2. This thing is killer. And I killed it. But more than anything, the back 1/2 of the run was hot and no wind. I've not been able to get much heat work in because it has been so cool lately. But still, I knocked off almost 2 minutes from the same course as last year, and it was much cooler last year. What would you do differently?: Run harder. Pain is temporary. Post race
Warm down: Went straight into shade. Mercy it was hot and there just wasn't much wind at the finish line. Beth caught up to me and got me water (they really didn't have much at the finish line, just cups) and an apple and banana. Cooled down and recovered. Took at least 20+ minutes for the HR to get down though, which is odd for me. I'm assuming it was because of the heat. What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat Event comments: Love this race. Love the venue. Love the course. Love just about everything about it. Except for one thing. The results. They do not put your ranking in each section nor do they put your ranking in each against your AG. To do it, you have to cut and paste their data into an spreadsheet to do lots of mental gymnastics to figure it out. I'll do mine later, but that is the one thing about this race that bugs me. For something so well run, they have a crummy results report. Last updated: 2012-03-26 12:00 AM

Arrived in Eagle Ridge on Thursday to have a little vacation with Beth before the actual race.
Not much. Rode the shuttle over, set up the area, put on the new wetsuit and stroked out to the first buoy and back just to get a feel for it. Felt nice.
