Run
Transition 1
Comments: I couldn't get my right shoe in the clip. I need to practice this. Bike
Comments: I wanted to keep my average pace over 20 mph and I finished right at it. I did start to cramp in my left side with three or so miles left. Also, missed a few spots with my ball butter - need to remember that next time. That made the ride rather uncomfortable. Overall, I felt I pushed it on the bike but I felt good. The course was easy but I really thought I did well. What would you do differently?: I was so focused on the ride and in the zone that I didn't hydrate enough. Transition 2
Comments: Couldn't rerack my bike on the seat so I turned it around. Run
Comments: This is where I struggled. The run left the transition uphill and before I crested the hill, I got cramps in both calves. This was a first, I've never had muscle cramps and I'm not sure why. I had to stop at the top of the hill and give a quick massage then had to run sloooow until I found the groove. Overall, I struggled on this run. I need to always do a transition run after rides. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: I just need more experience and training. Event comments: When I finished, there was bottled water available but when Steph finished, they had run out. I thought this was bad. Otherwise, events were good. Post-race socializing didn't seem as intimate as the Lazy E Du but it was still good. Last updated: 2006-05-15 12:00 AM
