Swim
Comments: Horrible, horrible swim...last in my age grop actually...don't know if I was swimming way off course, or my wet suit has become too tight...needless to say, thought I was swimming well, but ended up doing horribly-114th overall What would you do differently?: No idea..I'm out of ideas...I've been swimming well lately...maybe I need to swim less? Maybe I was tired? Transition 1
Comments: Wrong gear on my bike, suit was stuck on my right heel...bad transition...I think I had my poor time in my brain after looking at it...felt like a fat brick, super heavy... What would you do differently?: Have my bike geared correctly...lose weight....not look at my swim time...I don't know... Bike
Comments: Good bike for me after I got the pee out..felt fast, but still got passed a bunch...plus I was 63rd overall for men, which is truly unacceptable. What would you do differently?: Lose weight, not drink as much or pee in the beginning? Transition 2
Comments: Good transition, 44th for men...and my best category of all 5....still...could have gone faster, feet were numb again... What would you do differently?: Work on getting out of shoes and jumping off a moving bike.. Run
Comments: I had numb feet again after the bike, and it took about a mile and a half to get that over, and my pace opened up...the hills killed me...really knocked back my pace...overall, my mind wasn't in the run...I should have been closer to 45 minutes at the least What would you do differently?: Lose weight, get my mind in the game...figue out why my feet are number. Post race
Warm down: Nothing, really disappointed, so I just walked around, got a massage, drank a Dr. Pepper and relaxed...happy to be done until I saw the results....just a real disappointing race for where I thought my fitness was....maybe I was tired or something What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight, mental effort, wetsuit perhaps? Event comments: Really well put on race by Setup...it's a tough run course, and the bike course can be challenging on the front side with the wind...but the bike is gorgeous and feels shorter than its 27 miles...the swim is really pretty and not choppy generally...transition is tough out of the gate b/c of a really steep hill...still, a great race by a great race organization... Got up at 445 to drive to the course...traffic pretty heavy, and got my snacks and coffee a bit late...but still managed to get them, get to the course with a decent amount of time, biked about 5 minutes,
Just biked about 5 minutes to make sure everything was ok...swam about 3 or 4 minutes to get warmed up...
