Swim
Comments: My worst swim to date. It seems impossible to me to be such a poor swimmer and then actually regress... What would you do differently?: Swim better. I mean I was like 3 minutes slower than anyone in my wave!! Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good transition without the wetsuit. I didn't compare times from last year bu they changed the layout so it was longer. What would you do differently?: Nada. Bike
Comments: My time was good but because of my slow swim I was super out of breath when I started and I refused to let off to settle down. I know I am in shape to push the whole time so I did. What would you do differently?: Keep my focus a bit more at times. There were a few times I caught myself getting down because of my poor swim but I shut that down and got to work. Transition 2
Comments: I was a bit confused coming in because of the change so I had to yell at a volunteer. Like I said they changed it a bit so we had to run all the way thru transition before heading onto the run. Run
Comments: This was where my illness from this week had really hurt me. I was thinking about it during the swim that I couldn't breathe well and there was a point on the run when I had to stop and stand until I could blow my nose and breathe decent. I probably stood there for a full minute totally pissed. I actually was one step from quitting and walking back to transition. I couldn't do that to myself though so I got going again and jogged at a more comfortable pace. I knew my cold would affect me but it's always dissapointing when you know you have more in you but your body won't respond. What would you do differently?: Not get sick haha. I know I could have pushed thru but I made my decision to stop and catch my breath and that was the best I could come up with on the fly. It won't happen next time. Post race
Warm down: Walked around a bit and got changed at my truck and waited for awards. What limited your ability to perform faster: My poor swimming and an illness from the week prior. Event comments: I like this race. The park and lake are nice and the courses are all nice. I would prefer something different for the post-race meal as a turkey/ham sandwich isn't that appealing at 9 in the morning. Especially after working really hard. Last updated: 2012-04-23 12:00 AM

Woke up at 5 and ate my typical breakfast. Left the house at 6.
I had the onsite SAG tighten up my cassette and then rode for 10 min. I set up my transition and then jogged around the park. Maybe 5-10 min.
