Swim
Comments: Number one in AG!! Started to the left. Went out fast to establish a lane. Was a little crowded but manage to miss any wacks or kicks. Was difficult to swim directly into the waves. Did choke once but kept going even while coughing. Caught up to wave ahead of us and was reeling them in 3/4 of the way. Little seaweedy at the end. Murky. Easier on return with waves. Race another yellow capper to the shore. What would you do differently?: Not much was a good swim and I'm happy with it. Maybe not pull the zipper off the wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: Took my time. Still wearing sock. I think they make it a more comfortable ride hence faster. What would you do differently?: Bring a crate to sit one. Bike
Comments: The dreaded hill they talked about wasn't so bad. Some guy decided he could put his helmet on while on the mat out. Think people who are slowing down with your stupidity. I needed a little time to get in my clips but that got the rest of the harried riders out of the way. Passed a few people going up hill. That was nice as my first tri I got nothing but passed. Once I cleared the hill played tag with a 30 y/o old. Out to the turn around went well. Not much traffic. Coming back got passed by a group who was like a wolf pack. They slowed down on a rolling hill, I passed them. They passed back and i passed again then laid back as a large downhill was coming. Felt kinda neat to pass some of those carbon fiber aero bikes. Finished strong. Fun ride back into T-2 with well rested legs. What would you do differently?: Spend more time in aero position. Get an aero bottle or easier hydration tool. Velcoed my gel to the bike and that worked well. Little funny on teeth need the fuzzy side on gel. Transition 2
Comments: Should have change shirt as the jersey was a little tight. would have been happier in running shirt. Need plain water at T-2. Wash the grit and gel down. What would you do differently?: Water. Run
Comments: I'm not a runner. I felt good an rested. Why don't I walk a little before running. Did spend some time at rest station walking to drink. I ran about a mile passed two people and got passed by 10-15 runners, four in my age group. Blah, no hardware for me. What would you do differently?: Learn to run, enjoy running. swim and bike like a mad man so I can walk the 5K and win. Post race
Warm down: Got a drink and walked around to cool, then wait for JamJam to come in. It was her first Tri. She did great. What limited your ability to perform faster: Wieght and inability to run worth a dam. Will start working towards a better run. Start my Chi again. Event comments: Its great having BT gang around to support you. Thanks Mike for the great cheers you didn't miss a transition. Even the girls helped. Did miss Yoshi and Will to cheer but i know they were cheering for me at home. I will do this race again. Well run and the friendilest volunteers. Last updated: 2006-05-22 12:00 AM

Slept only margainally better then usual. Upa at 4:00 since I was awake. Had a little muffin and some water. Loaded car and headed out about 5:00. Arrived at 6:00 and parked in spectator stop. They said I would be able to get out easier. Oh yeah put on my tattoo. Picked up packet. Well the number and a t-shirt. Met up with rstock3 and couple other peoples. Set up transition. Had number racks, nice. Stood around had some coffee and banana, energy getl of some kind. Put on wetsuit and pulled the zipper upa nd out the top. GREAT. Water 77 so not cold. dumped it at transisiton and ran to warmup area to do 100 yds or so.
100 yds in lake to get the timing of the waves.
