Swim
Comments: I put myself at a faster pace than I probably should have. This was I would not be held up by slower swimmers. The good news was that I was the last person before a 2 minute break. This meant there would not be anyone swimming up behind me. It worked out great. I ended up passing one person and not really held up at all. What would you do differently?: nada Transition 1
Comments: I had a good t1. What would you do differently?: have my garmin ready to go for a change, but why change now. Every other race is the same thing, I never get my garmin right. Bike
Comments: The bike mat was right at the transition area. After you crossed the mat and started the bike you had to carry it (or at least I did) through a swampy muddy path (because of the storm last night) to the main road. Then you wee able to mount the bike and start riding. There were speed bumps every couple hundred yards until you got out of the neighborhood. I would say they covered the first 2 or 3 miles. I did not slow down over them and lived, so they were not a factor. There were hills, and the end looked looked like it was downhill, and I was slowing down. I thought I had a flat. It turned out others thought the same thing. It turned out to actually be uphill. I went hard and hoped for a 21mph pace, LOL, not today. Besides, we had to dismount and carry our bikes through that muddy path again. I wonder what my pace would have been without the off road stuff. What would you do differently?: nada Transition 2
Comments: good transition for me. I threw off the helmet and put on the running shoes. What would you do differently?: nada Run
Comments: It was early enough that I didnt overheat. I tried to go as fast as I could because I wanted to complete this race in under an hour. On my way out I saw Maria coming back. That always makes me feel good. The run was pretty hilly. Coming back there was a huge hill. I remember it from last year. I did finish strong (for me) and was happy with my run. What would you do differently?: nada Post race
Warm down: no pizza, no hot dogs, no beer (thats why theres a cooler in my truck). They had oranges and bagels. I guess for a one hour race I didnt need anything more. What limited your ability to perform faster: ability Event comments: It was a good race. The award ceremony drug out. They had a bunch of give-a-way stuff but the announcer was so unorganized that people were leaving. We ended up leaving before he finished. We might have won something cool but had to get back to the hotel to shower and check out before noon. Besides I wanted one of those beers out of my cooler. Last updated: 2012-06-26 12:00 AM

I got up at 4 or 430. There was a nasty storm the night before and we were wondering if there would be any standing water on the bike course. We got to the race site and sit up transition. Lets see, bike, helmet, bike shoes, running shoes. I didnt start until 7:50 so I hung out with Maria and some tri friends.
I tried to get loose, for a 250 yard swim. That was going to be my warm up.
