Swim
  • 28m 58s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 46s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim seemed long. I think it was because that's not my normal pace and I felt like I was pretty strong throughout. The huge mass of people all swimming at the same time was pure chaos. Pretty interesting! I lost my goggles in transition. I thought I had them, but I've gone through all of my stuff twice with no luck... Too bad, I liked those goggles.
What would you do differently?:

Install GPS tracker on goggles.
Transition 1
  • 02m 25s
Comments:

No socks this time. Went pretty fast due to that. Also, we had to stuff all of our swim gear in a bag, so that took time.
Bike
  • 1h 19m 25s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 18.77 mile/hr
Comments:

Wow, those hills were killer. I'm really surprised I was able to maintain 18mph! I'm guessing on the downhills I must have gone supersonic speeds in order to average out the dawdling that was the uphill climbs :) Still felt good by the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Get my power up. Need to go faster to place in races.
Transition 2
  • 01m 8s
Comments:

Long transition area. Went pretty fast. No socks with my shoes.
Run
  • 51m 14s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 15s  min/mile
Comments:

Wow, this was a hilly run. Really tested my lungs and legs. I kept pace with a guy in my age group for just about the whole race so I could motivate myself not to slow down. Sprinted past him at the end to get 4th place. It was a pretty good fight to the finish. Really strong.
Post race
Warm down:

Huff and Puff.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think I just need to train more so I can get my lungs and legs more efficient/powerful. Bike Upgrade might help :)

Event comments:

I liked this race a lot. Mostly because I feel such a sense of accomplishment (it being my first Olympic therefore my longest race). I liked that they had live finishing times. The tech guy in me was impressed. :)
