Pre-race routine:

Got up at 02:00 in the morning when I got called into work. After I got home I ate breakfast, loaded the truck, and took off for the race about 4:15.

Got to the race site early. Got checked in and transition set up.

Had a good ride. Had to stop midway through lap 2 to check on another rider who wiped out right in front of me. Probably cost me 30 seconds. I felt like I rode well and pushed the right amount.

Run went well. I started off a little to fast and made myself slow down. The middle part of the run went well, tough but good. Grabbed a drink of water everytime I passed an aid station. I sprinted from the 6 mile mark to the finish, felt good.

Busy schedule in the weeks leading up to the race.

Event comments:

Had a good race. Probably my only tri this year. Was happy to come in 3rd in my age group, 19th male, and 21st overall.
