  • Comments: Race Omaha has caught a lot of flack the past few years for running events pretty poorly. I'm sure some if not most of it was earned, and a certain portion just whiners. This event was solidly run, though I did witness a high-level female athlete go off course RIGHT BY a volunteer and a police officer who could have easily pointed the right direction had they not been doing whatever in the world it was they were doing. She didn't lose much time but certainly something like that can affect your race. It started raining pretty good when the race was getting over so I didn't stick around to watch awards or anything (not that I was gonna get any anyway! ha). Also they ran out of finishers towels, which is a little irritating considering the attendance for the race was pretty much what it had been the preceding several years, but they appear to be mailing them out to people who requested it. I did get one but my friend Scott who finished about 20 minutes after me did not.

  • Comments: Had a good race. Probably my only tri this year. Was happy to come in 3rd in my age group, 19th male, and 21st overall.

  • Comments: Best race for the $$$$ I've ever done. I do think a name change is in order, The Big Mosquito is my vote. I was very unhappy with my swim, I can't say I was pleased with the bike based on passes/passed for being so far back out of the water. One guy passes me on the first lap and asks if this is my first triathlon???????? really I even look like I suck as much as I feel at this particular moment? I did pass him twice on the run, once just before the chain link fence then shortly after my lil detour, that was all I really needed. :). This was a bit of test to see how my knee and body for that matter felt/held up before signing up for SilvermAn 1/2 and when my ankle was hurting as much as it was the first two miles I was ready to say it wasn't going to happen. As the pain left and my running legs came back and not only came back but felt I was getting stronger the longer I ran. I feel I'm on the road back, knee didn't bother me at all, didn't hurt after the race and as I'm typing this

  • Comments: Great race, I will definitely do this one again. I would however like it to be closer to actual Oly distances on all segments, but that certainly isn't a show stopper...

  • Comments: This was a nice race and a great local race for me. There could have been more drink stations on the run but I had my water bottle so that wasn't too big of an issue. Some more post race activities would have been nice but overall I think it was pretty organized, and on time. I will be back next year.

  • Comments: With a little work, this could be an awesome race. Get the distances spot on for an Olympic event. Advertise more, and get more volunteers. Maybe even get it USAT sanctioned. The setting is good, the course is good, so the potential is there.

  • Comments: Enjoyed my day. A volunteer stationed where we made the wrong turn at the bike would have been nice. Also a wave start on the swim. All-in-all a good race, had a blast.

  • Comments: Giving this one a 3. Things I'm going to suggest: 1) correct t-shirt size in packets 2) CHISEL-TIP markers, none of that needle tip crap. That stuff hurts! 3) countdown to swim start 4) bike course re-route [which they are planning on changing anyway] 5) run water station re-distribution, miles 1-3-5 vs. 2-3-4.

  • Comments: I don't believe the organizers of this race are triathletes themselves. Racing on a pot-holed, narrow, bike trail with other bikers heading straight for you at 20+mph is NOT smart. There was one water station on the entire course (including transition). When you are running or biking for long distances, nutrition plays a vital role. In most cases this nutrition can only be safely consumed with water. After the tri, the organizers ran out of bottled water as we were waiting for results to be tabulated!

  • Comments: scoring top notch, organization was good, personnel helping needed proper direction, they did not know how to perform there given tasks. The course was great, bike course was a little sketchy, (why not go around the lake 3 times on the bike????) Only the second year they have hosted it, I expect it to get better every year. hang in CB, IA you can do it.

  • Comments: Poor aid stations, poor directing in the beginning, poor awards ceremony, poor post-race refreshments, poor directing near the ice cream shoppe. It's only their 2nd year so you can't blame 'em, but it still makes you not really want to do something like that again as much.

  • Comments: Needed more boats in the water (only had two and might have kept me on course better). A few more volunteers on bike course since it was kind of narrow with lots of sharp turns. Definately more drink stations on the run. Only had one, could have used two or three more.
