Quick run out to transition and dip feet, prior to putting on my shoes.

Transition time includes an extended run to the transition area. The one thing that STINKS about this race is the long run on gravel and old pavement.Last year when I did this race I ran to T1 barefoot. This would save me time from screwing around with my shoes, but I was able to run faster with my shoes on. It is STUPID that they don't put a carpet down or something, so contestants don't have to run on the rocky surface.

I was parched on the run - the hydration station was like half way through the run, not the same place it was last year.
What would you do differently?:

Bring a hydration pack.

I was really dehydrated during my run.

I have decided that the longer the distance, the more I push myself.
