Swim
Comments: I felt better than ever (3rd open water swim, 2nd in TTL) using my sighting and swimming somewhat straight, yet my time was 2 minutes slower than the Tempe Intl Tri in the same lake/same distance. What would you do differently?: Swim faster. Transition 1
Comments: It was a loooooong run from the swim to the bike as my bike was 3 racks away from the bike out/in. What would you do differently?: Learn to have the bike shoes on the bike already. Not give a crap about the grass all over my feet when putting on socks. Bike
Comments: The bike is always my best. I settled down the second lap and got into a groove. What would you do differently?: Ignore those people that pass me at warp 90 and then I slowly pass them in a few minutes...I should learn to continually do my own race. Transition 2
What would you do differently?: Run faster and try pedaling on top of my shoes...although the sharp turn and incline into the parking lot (right before the transition area) would make it scary...that might help. Run
Comments: I kept burping the water and gatorade I would drink on course. That was weird. I had a side stitch miles 4 and 5 that sucked. I started at 8:45ish per mile and then cracked. I felt okay, except for that damn side stitch. What would you do differently?: Figure out how not to get a side stitch. Maybe fuel before the run. Post race
Warm down: Stand in front of the misting coolers they had set up out there. Then went for lunch and beerS. What limited your ability to perform faster: side stitch, poor swimming time Event comments: It was overly hot and they needed more water stations on the run. That's not the organizers fault, but have I mentioned it was hot? And I live here. Good race...a fun start in the water, having never done that before. Last updated: 2012-09-24 12:00 AM

Wake up, shower, eat a Hammer bar and drink a water bottle while driving to Tempe. Stress over a parking spot.
