  • Comments: This race was MUCH better than last years. I'm glad the organizers were able to push it earlier into the year. TriSports Racing did a great job on this race, I'm glad to have them back. It's a tough course for me, and the competition was fierce. Friendly and Fun, and pretty hard. I'm definitely coming back!

  • Comments: The race itslef was very good. I ranked it as average for several reasons - 1) Race registration and bike check-in was only between 12-5pm the day before the race. Newsflash - it's hot in AZ in September. Why not begin registartion at 8am so we can get it taken care when the weather is tolerable? Also, making us do this between 12-5 screws up your entire day. 2)They made athletes go to a "mandatory meeting" at 1:30pm when it was 105+ out. Real smart... 3) Transition area security was a COPMPLETE JOKE. It was so bad that I might not do this race again unless things are changed. I heard of at least two bikes and a pair of bike shoes being stolen out of transition area DURING the race. How do they let that happen? I'm doing Soma in a month and will be locking my bike up when it's in transition.

  • Comments: Lifetime/Red Rock did a great job with this event. They have had challenges in the past getting started on time, but this year they were prepared and got started as expected. It was a bummer waiting so long to have the pros go through, then the sprint athletes go through before we really got going, but no big deal.

  • Comments: The Lifetime Group seens to have picked up where Redrock left off and pulled off a better race and time. There were a lot of generous volunteers and meetng a couple of pros never hurt either. A great race.

  • Comments: Red Rock continues to put on good races, and just needs to figure out the starts a bit better. This is at least the second RR race where start has been delayed 30 minutes or more. But they still run an awesome race.

  • Comments: It was overly hot and they needed more water stations on the run. That's not the organizers fault, but have I mentioned it was hot? And I live here. Good race...a fun start in the water, having never done that before.

  • Comments: My plan for this race was to pace myself and feel fresh afterwards. I accomplished this goal and was able to do the run loop two more times without stressing myself too much. This race was for IMAZ prep and my overall placing wasn't important. It killed me getting passed on the bike though. Most people I passed again, but there were a few that I didn't catch. The heat was also a killer and got worse as the day went on. Overall I'm happy with how this race went.

  • Comments: Great race! The bike course could use some rework but I understand the logistical nightmare between having the optimal course and keeping the race within one small city like Tempe. I love Redrock and their races and this one is a must every year.

  • Comments: I left all my dissapointments from this year out on the course this day. I was 5th overall behind 3 pro's and know that I had more to give. I never had the negative thoughts that seemed to haunt me earlier this season during the race. The demons have been exercised and I am ready to do what I need to do at IMAZ.

  • Comments: This was a very well managed race and very well done. I definitively plan on coming back again for next year. Great course, except for the bike section, but loved it overall. Just need to continue practicing for this type of racing. Need to improve my speed on the run. Overall, awesome race, and the wife did supper well on her full Sprint and did hers in 2:03:27. She rocked. We had hopped for 2:30's. Not bad for a person who started training 4 months ago, and the only excersise she ever did was cheerleading back in high school. So we are all very proud of her.

  • Comments: This race has gone downhill. We used to get a nice spread of food. This year it was bananas, pretzles and animal crackers, oranges and water and gatoraide. Also, 95% of their volunteers are high school kids. I can't tell you how many I saw them standing there texting instead of doing what they should have been doing. Oh well, in a few weeks we will be back for the SOMA half. Same place, same RD, same crap. PLEASE LET IT NOT BE 97 DEGREES LIKE IT WAS LAST YEAR!!!!!!

  • Comments: I was a little dissapointed to learn that although there was a seperate Pro wave (with only 2 Pro's) they were aggregated into the final awards, so my potential 2nd overall was bumped to 4th, but it was ok. I did tease Nicole DeBoom about it and she felt bad.

  • Comments: Hung out afterward with a few of my peeps and waited for Jerry to finish his first Oly. Got to see Chris, Aaron, Dan, Rick, Milton, Sally, and Paulette after the race. Saw Woz once on the bike, and never saw Sterling or Brian. Said goodbye to Kathy as she was leaving. Triathlon is so much more fun when you have friends around!!!

  • Comments: they said there would be gu on the run, but they must have run out, that was really disappointing! I was anticipating a gu! Other than that very well organized, lots of water stations, spectators and volunteers were awesome
