Swim
Comments: I was not very happy with where I positioned myself for the start. It was a real fight/melee and I had to stop once to put my goggles back on after getting kicked in the face. What would you do differently?: Start more to the left side Transition 1
Comments: I had some trouble with my socks that cost me a few seconds. What would you do differently?: I'm not sure. The sock thing wasn't that big of a deal and it makes me more prepared for T2. Bike
Comments: For me, this was "pounding it" on the bike. It was better than I hoped for. I don't have a fancy TT bike or high end road bike so passing some those high-end rigs makes you feel good :-) What would you do differently?: I'm learning more about pacing through this distance, so I'm just going to keep building on what I've learned. Transition 2
Comments: My timing chip missed the T2 so this is a bit of a guess. Run
Comments: Well, I've done this part faster before. I had some pretty bad shin splints so I kept turning around to run backwards just to avoid walking. That's not easy on this course! What would you do differently?: As usual... need to run more and practice bricks more. Post race
Warm down: Flopped on the ground and panted like a dog. Event comments: This is still my favorite triathlon and I'm already signed up for next year. I will finish this course with a time under an hour! It's gonna happen! Last updated: 2012-10-19 12:00 AM

I got there early as usual and sat down to enjoy watching the contestants arrive.
It was pretty cold so I didn't do much other than swim a few yards when entering the water.
