Comments: I was going great up until about 8 miles then it started to get tough, really suffered from the lack of hydration and nutrition which may have been down to pre-race prep. Gels were provided but I knew they wouldn't be beneficial What would you do differently?: Carry a drink for the latter part and carry my own gels Post race
Warm down: Walk to get a cab back to hotel then jacuzzi and pool :o) What limited your ability to perform faster: Weight, lack of preparation just prior to the race and ill health. Event comments: They ran out of water bottles at the end and the only food supplied were a bagel and peanuts - difficult to stomach without a lot of fluid so I was pretty much left to fend for myself, they screwed up the delivery of my packer as well which meant my results were recorded as an anonymous runner. GI issues the day before and working the week before meant a less than ideal prep. 2 bananas and a yoghurt for bfast, also not ideal
Walked about 25 minutes to the start but then stood about for a bit. Tried to keep warm and keep moving
