  • Comments: Almost any race held at the lakefront that is well organized is a good race. Only thing is they didn't give out AG awards. The race results say I'm sixth, but in every other race the top 3 overall get taken out of their respective AG's, which in this race were all from M3039. This would have made me third in AG so that's why I put that in this RR. Other than that, nice race.

  • Comments: They ran out of water bottles at the end and the only food supplied were a bagel and peanuts - difficult to stomach without a lot of fluid so I was pretty much left to fend for myself, they screwed up the delivery of my packer as well which meant my results were recorded as an anonymous runner. It marred the whole thing really.

  • Comments: I really liked this race. I wish there were more mile markers, but the city is so pretty at this time of year and it was fun to do a race in October. The only super crowded area of the course was that area around Lower Wacker, but there were traffic marshals to stop the cars. I was amazed at how many people dressed up! I saw a guy dressed as Mayhem and give him credit for running 13 miles in a suit.

  • Comments: I didn't mind the race not starting on time since we were running late anyway. It was an awesome race but I give it a 4 since it wasn't perfect. I won't hesitate to run it again if choosing a hm at this time of year.

  • Comments: Although the trip north to Lincoln park is beautiful, the course was Horrible. Through broken sidewalks over grass hills, sloped banks along lake, dirt trails back to sidewalks.. over bridge on two person sidewalk (some stopped by bridge going up and police stopping runners for traffic). Course was open to bikers etc... The last mile was about 0.4 miles longer..overall race was 13.5ish

  • Comments: For its first year in Chicago, this didn't go too badly, despite the course change. There were plenty of water stations, and volunteers with megaphones on some stretches to cheer us on. Post-race, there didn't seem to be much going on, so I got out of there ASAP because I was already starting to get cold. I do have to admit that it was fun seeing people lining up in a huge array of costumes on Hallowe'en! The lack of regular mile markers on the second half of the course is the only major flaw I can think of, really.

  • Comments: Great race overall despite the city messing up the course last minute. The Swag is AWESOME. Best Quality stuff Ive received thus far. I got a lined hoodie with cool reflective printing (and thumb-holes!), and embroidered winter hat, and the finishers metal was a unique belt buckle. Also picked up a cool nylon shell jacket for super-cheap that has a skeleton on it at the "monster store" on race day. Only thing I missed was I didn't see the supposed trick-or-treat station at the half-way point. Was it there? Was fun watching everyone run by in costumes. Made for good entertainment while running. Race is also I-pod/MP3 friendly which is nice. Will do it again if they return next year. Not bad for their first shot in Chicago I'm sure next year will be even better.
