Pre-race routine:

I had to sit around for a long time because the 70.3 competitors went off first. At least we got a close car park
Event warmup:

None. I am over warming up for a triathlon. I went and had a paddle to test the water temp because I had no wetsuit on but that's it.

Average swim for me.
Not sure if this is to do with no wetsuit or not. Maybe. I need to lose some weight so I fit in the damn thing again so I don't feel like a sausage wearing it.
I hate wetsuits. I can float fine without it, but this is proof that I need it to be fast. 4 minutes slower than last year.
What would you do differently?:

Wear the stupid wetsuit probably.

The only thing that slows me down in transition is the 300m run out of the joint. I had like 6 people overtake me there.

Completely underdone for this race, so I expected this.
I struggled up the big hill and had to stop again this year. I need to spend a heap more time on the bike.

I need to be thinner.
Pity this race isn't going to be around any more for me to have one last crack.

Good transition really.
Would have been faster but I walked out and wanted to wait for Tim and Pete.
And I sat down to put my shoes on.
I contemplated a lot of things in transition.
Numb toes. Whether I wanted to run. Whether i cared about the stupid podium.

This was not a run. This was a walk/can't breathe/stop for ventolin from the medics/walk some more/fall down/have a vomit/i don't want to finish this shit.

Bad. So bad.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Went to the toilet.
Found Pete and laid down.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training. Probably lack of care factor also.
I know I can do an OD on no training. It's slow, but I can do it.

Event comments:

Was a bit annoyed with the volunteers and the race packs this year.
USM and their competitor gifts were average. No towel or backpack or anything for the OD.
Volunteers stood there and watched me vomit at the finish line and not one person asked if I was ok.
