First lap - Lot of close swimming. Very close. Got bumped into many times. Never felt like I could get into my pace.
second lap - more space to swim
felt a hamstring cramp as I put my feet down to walk in waist high water on first lap and again on exit lap.
What would you do differently?:

go up further or hang back a bit
Transition 1
  • 08m 7s
Comments:

wet suit off easily...no chafing or red places [like the "skin" stuff }
warm weather makes ride clothes selection easy [just tank top]...no socks
put most nutrition in race belt. Easy to put on and go.
sand on back side makes problems [rubbing] later.
What would you do differently?:

should drink something in T1.
brush off sand
water to wash off feet.

Used .5 bottle to rince mouth out of T1. Drank rest of bottle and 2 bottles of FRS before 56. picked up 2 more waters at aid stations....sipped some but mostly used for cooling off body. Changed out empty bottles at 56 special needs area [ also eat bpj sandwich...did not really want it but nibbled away at it....glad I did at mile 70] and got more nutrition. finished 1.5 bottles of FRS and 3 more waters [mostly for cooling body] at the T2 dismount.
