Run
Comments: It's the perfect way to start Thanksgiving Day. It occurred to me during this race that this was now my fourth Turkey Trot and I seemed able to finally concede that I truly am a runner, it's not something I just do but something that is part of me. I executed this race well and am happy with the results. I had set a goal in my mind to try and hit this in 45 minutes or less. This, while not my PR on this course, is not far off and in all reality I'm not sure I'll ever hit that PR again so I was pleased with this. I actually executed well with my first mile being my slowest, my middle three being about the same pace and my last one being the fastest. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: Talked with my Tri Parents until RF and his daughter finished, then grabbed some water and went on my merry way. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: I love this tradition. Last updated: 2012-11-10 12:00 AM

Woke up at the last second possible, put on some warm clothes to run in and got in the car. It occurred to me when we were already five miles from the house that I had forgotten my Ipod as well as didn't manage to eat anything. It's only a five mile race what the heck do I need music for? The food issue was settled by stopping at Starbucks. I ate half of a egg white/turkey bacon breakfast sandwich.
Who warms up for a five mile race? That's just silly. We waited for RunningFlyr's daughter to meet us as she was running too. She sported my Team RWB shirt - yay and she and her Dad carried the flag and even made the news. While I too was supporting RWB I decided to let the two of them run together and I ran ahead. Anyway back to the warm up. We stood around, met with friends as well as RunningFLyrs parents and took pictures.
