Run
Comments: Holy smoke, this was suppose to be a running event - not a swimming event. 6:03 am 65° HUMIDITY: 93% 7:03 am 64° HUMIDITY: 94% 8:05 am 64° HUMIDITY: 100% 9:04 am 70° HUMIDITY: 88% I was NOT prepared to run with that sort of humidity. Right off the bat, I had a lot of trouble breathing and my legs got instantly sore. I was able to work through the sore but the breathing was still a problem. The other major issue was it was so crowded! Several times, when I was ready to really run, I couldn't get through the wall of people in front of me. What would you do differently?: Make an effort to go stronger at the beginning to make sure that I'm ahead of a good portion of the walking/slow running crowd. Train a bit longer. Find a better way to self motivate. Post race
Warm down: Finished, ate some gummy candy and stretched. What limited your ability to perform faster: Humidity and too many people. Event comments: This was a fun and very well run race but you should not be doing it to set a PR. The humidity wasn't something that could have been controlled but the crowds were. The course just didn't fit the number of people trying to do it. Last updated: 2012-11-14 12:00 AM

Woke up ridiculously early, got dressed, had some Gatorade (Rain Berry) grabbed a banana and head out to the venue. Once I got there, ate the banana and did gentle stretching and calming nerves.
