Swim
Comments: Got a good start then couldn't find any quicker feet to follow. Got into a rhythm on my own and just swam round. Even though we were in the harbour, there was still a nasty swell at the far end. Swam strong, out of the water in under 10 minutes, ran over the timing mat and into T1. What would you do differently?: Nothing, other than push harder. Transition 1
Comments: Wetsuit got stuck, again, struggled to put on a borrowed garmin 410 and set off. What would you do differently?: Not lose my garmin the week before.... Probably cost me a good 45 seconds! Bike
Comments: Great bike, especially in the wind. Passed heaps with not too many passing me. Pretty quiet on the second lap but it did mean I got some space. Had a great time, legs were holding up. What would you do differently?: Nothing, maybe push more but didn't want to trash my legs a week after the half. Transition 2
Comments: Feet out of shoes, jumped off the bike, in and out quick. What would you do differently?: Nothing, was happy here. Run
Comments: Still my slowest leg, but pretty much a race PBS! So very happy. And on legs that should have been tired. Again, I passed people!!! Amazing, this doesn't happen. What would you do differently?: Push harder, again. Sure I left more out there, but I'll take it! Post race
Warm down: Drinks and a walk, then a ride back to port melbourne fora nice coffee What limited your ability to perform faster: Tired legs from the half the previous week. Event comments: Got my redemption, 14th in AG is awesome. Think the AG wasn't as quick as some others but I'm not complaining. With my own garmin, on fresh legs, I wonder.... Might have to concentrate on short course next season... :) Usual top quality organisation with plenty of awesome vollies! Last updated: 2012-11-22 12:00 AM

Well, after last weeks fiasco where I ad my garmin knocked off my wrist in the swim at Shep HIM, I decided to race this sprint with a friend.
Wasn't sure how my legs, especially the Achilles would be, but was really looking forward to it.
Up early, into the city. Parked at a friends and rode down to St Kilda. Nice and easy.
Forecast was for 24 and no winds. Hah!! Was 18 with 20-25k southerly blowing.
Setting off 40 minutes after the pros wasn't the best either, but got a nice warmup done and watched the other waves set off.
