Swim
Comments: Lots of lifeguard support on paddle boards every 50-100 yards. Course clearly marked. crowd thins out after 100-150 yards. Able to spot the buoy line and swim straight and kept a good pace. Transition 1
Comments: Exit on beach then up 150 yrd hill to Transition area. Time check about 30 yards out of swim. Transition area laid out well. Easy in and out to bike. Bike
Comments: Enjoyed the bike course, able to ride with others without getting crowded. Enjoyed the long downhill after the long climb up CL Rd. Transition 2
Comments: Bike and run exits on opposite ends of transition. Run
Comments: Originally due to lack of training I wasn't going to run, but given the nice day and fact that I felt good coming off the bike, I committed to a slow run. Was caught by my uncle around mile 2 and we finished together. What would you do differently?: Train better. Post race
Event comments: The Waupaca community does a great job running this event. With around 800 participants (long and short) the event is fun and well attended, but never crowded. There are volunteers all along the course and everything was clearly marked and set up early. Also a fun finish line with a announcer calling out nearly every name and hometown. Close parking is limited so come early, or plan a short ride to the transition area. Last updated: 2012-12-03 12:00 AM

Friday night my 7 and 8 year olds participated in the kids triathlon. The short swim is more of a wade, but the event was well run and a blast for all the kids.
