Pre-race routine:

Took a group photo with Team Frontrunner and walked into the gates. Kissed DT goodbye as he found corral A, while I was back in E.

Comments:

I'm 100% happy with my time as this is my last half marathon. Good way to "retire" from the distance.

DT had been nursing a cold for the week prior to the race so he ran the 10k instead. After he finished he found me at mile 9 and ran with me, leaving me as the course dog legged. He ran with me for several spots and ran the last mile with me until just before the chute. He gave me a smooch as we parted and the crowd collectively "awww"ed. I really needed him as I cracked hard, dropping from my 11min miles to 12 min.

Warm down:

Moo! Moving through the cattle like food stations, which were pretty bare.

Event comments:

Will not do this race again- the finish line and the cattle like herding of people into Columbus Commons was a joke. Too many people in a too small of space. The band was too loud so no one could hear cel phones or what anyone was saying. For your money the Flying Pig is a better race, even with that huge hill :) I'm in for the 10K next year!
