up at 5. ate applesauce and had a little coffee. got to the shuttle at 630.

Comments:

I never really felt strong today. My effort level was about on par with my long training runs though.
And given that the past 4 years my times have been 5:08, 5:04, 4:20 and 4:22 I am happy to have finally gotten from one end of this course to the other without the really nasty cramps that have come on around mile 17 every other time I have ran this race.
What would you do differently?:

Trained a bit more hills. Lost a little more weight.

Warm down:

walked around a good deal. I was feeling light headed and knew that if I sat down I would take a nap.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

im just old. and I dont run enough.

Event comments:

The only thing that I don't like about this race is the shuttle system. I wold like to see them change the course again so that it could start and end near the hotels. My first two years here it was so nice to roll out of bed and walk to the start.
Still, I am very glad to have completed the 5 race series.
