  • Comments: Love the Cowtown....they put on a great race. This was my 5th year to do it (4 halfs and 1 full this yr), and I truly think that the race organizers have done a better job each and every year.

  • Comments: I don't really have any other marathons to compare this to. I thought everything went very smoothly, including packet pickup. I like that this was not a huge race. Spectators were very supportive and entertainment along the course was pretty cool! I never could find the recovery drinks at the end, like Core Power, Muscle Milk, etc. Someone said there was chocolate milk, but I missed it. Finisher shirt is beautiful, red and long-sleeved.

  • Comments: The only thing that I don't like about this race is the shuttle system. I wold like to see them change the course again so that it could start and end near the hotels. My first two years here it was so nice to roll out of bed and walk to the start. Still, I am very glad to have completed the 5 race series. What next ?

  • Comments: Saturdays race was right on time, 7:00 am. Sundays race was about 4 minutes late but I think they had technical trouble. the announcer started the race over the speakers with a, "Ready, Set, GO!" This is a hilly and winding course. I went ahead and gave it a "just right" but the course if difficult imho. And this was my first Fully Mary!

  • Comments: Very enjoyable race. Challenging. Plenty of hills and if the wind kicks up like it did today it will really test you. Well organized, outstanding volunteers.

  • Comments: This race to me still has a small town feel. I have done some massive R-n-R races and this is not that. To wrap it up, while I was grabbing a nap after the race my wife and daughter adopted a mastiff mix puppy from the humane society. I will post pics when I get them.

  • Comments: I loev this race. It was my first marathon and I have run it 3 times. It is smaller than the rock and roll affairs. It is windy and the weather is REALLY unpredictable. I have ran this in the upper 60's / low 70s and in the mid 40s.

  • Comments: The Cowtown declined this year. Finisher's shirt is cheap and looks bad. Food tent was bad. They ran out of gift bags at the expo -- HOW? The wave start was a good upgrade but the waves don't need to be 2 minutes apart. Will do again for "star" medal. Hope 2011 is better organized.

  • Comments: Great race! Good course (but not flat by any means), plenty of drinks. I was a little surprised there was not much food on the course; I was really glad I had all my own with me. Awesome finishers medal that is one piece of a 5-point star if you put five years of medals together in a circle. Nice finisher's tech shirt. Never found any post race massages and I was told they ran out of beer by the time I finished. Overall a good race.

  • Comments: A decent small race. Course was hillier than I would have liked, and spectators were sparse. Otherwise, there was plenty of support and traffic control.

  • Comments: Although the start was so disorganized and many runners were still getting there chips and packets, the race was good. I can't imagine trying to pull off such a large event. I saw several 10K runners on the marathon course. The 10K started at the same time as the 1/2, marathon and ultra, but went out in the opposite direction. I think first time runners just got confused on where to start. I do love this event and plan on running the marathon again next year. It's a great course!

  • Comments: I had a great time with this event. I wish I could have done better and hoped that I could have finished in 4:30 or better, but my decisions and the conditions did not allow it. It was a first so i can take the experience and learn from it.

  • Comments: The organizers did a great job I thought. The race wasn't too crowded, but there were enough runners to keep you motivated and moving. For a first marathon (Robyn's), I think it was a great race. The course was marked well and even with the race day course change (due to a flood in one area) no one was turned the wrong way. The people in Ft Worth were great, lots of spectators in most areas. When Robyn decided to run a marathon, she'd just moved up to Colorado Springs; June of 2005. She couldn't run 5 minutes without having to take a break. Her training started in Nov and it was quite a journey. I am proud of her for this undertaking. She'd never run more than 12 miles before beginning this training and now she's a marathoner! I am proud of her for committing to this and bringing it to fruition. She's ready for more and wants to continue to improve her time. Way to go, baby!
