Swim
Comments: So my "official" swim time is 14:23 or something but that's because it took me 12:28 min to swim and then the rest of the time to take off my wetsuit. If I'd waited to take off my wetsuit I would have had a PR for the swim. Ugghhh. So mad! What would you do differently?: Wait to take off my wetsuit in transition. Transition 1

What would you do differently?: Not brake on downhills Transition 2

Anyone who does this race knows that sprint is a misnomer. First of all the bike course is hilly. As in Tour de France hilly. Lots of steep grades and cool ass downhills to get the blood pumping. I did this race in 2011 and I hadn't done a triathlon since then after being a tri maniac for four years. So I was nervous as hell. But excited to be back on the triathlon bandwagon. I broke my aerobars on my racing bike so I used my commuter bike in this one. No mater, my commuter has a triple crank and I needed every last bit of that granny gear to best this course. Which I did. more on that later. Pre-race was basically 2 hours trying to figure out how to manage my transition. Ughhh...the logistics of this race is a nightmare. First of all it's point-to-point. So you start at one point and finish at another. So I had to drop my bike off on Friday night, get my plastic gear bag and pack my T1 stuff in it. Which I brought to a remote parking lot where I parked my car. Then took a shuttle to T2 where I dropped off my run stuff then took a shuttle back to T1 where I finally set up my transition. Freakin nuts
I forgot two pairs of running shoes so I couldn't do a run as a warm up so I biked a couple of miles. The bike starts out on a steep hill so I had to change my gear so I didn't topple over like a turtle at the start. :)
