Comments: Since this was my first marathon, finishing was the goal. I have gotten in the habit of walking through the aid stations to avoid spilling all over myself and thought this would be a good plan. At the aid station around mile 21 my legs refused to start up again. Tough last 5 miles in a run/walk. What would you do differently?: I followed the training plan on the website for the most part. I only was able top make it up to 16 miles continuously before the race though, and 18 was my max with a run/walk. It's a lot of time to commit to training, but more distance and I might not have had such a crummy finish. Post race
Event comments: My goal was to finish my first in under 4.5 hours, so in that it was a success. Great race and great volunteers and spectators. Will likely come back next year. Last updated: 2013-03-08 12:00 AM

Just some loosening stretching in the corrals. Figured it would be so congested that the slow trot with everyone would be a good warm up in itself and I could take off when it thinned out.
