Pre-race routine:

Got up at 5:30 and had Cytomax and water to drink. Then met the cab at 6:10. The cab dropped me off at the bus stop at the campground. Had to wait over 20 minutes for the bus, was getting ready to walk down to the event. Got marked quickly but had to rush down the start point to get chipped and to the start point.
Event warmup:

Light stretching and jogging.
Swim
  • 36m 25s
  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 26s / 100 meters
Comments:

My goal was to play it safe and smart. Last race got trampled, so this time I started toward the back and as far over as I could go. THis worked well for me. When I stated geting tired I started drifting and hit the last corner bouy.
What would you do differently?:

Work on sighting better and stop drifting.
Transition 1
  • 05m 19s
Comments:

Since I missed the bathroom before the start, I took care of it here. Also fought with getting my top on.
What would you do differently?:

Work on transitions
Bike
  • 1h 02m 4s
  • 20.5 miles
  • 19.82 mile/hr
Comments:

The course started slow with speed bumps and tight corners. The middle was very flat and fast. It ended dangerously with bikes going both directions and runners there too.
What would you do differently?:

Need to do much more bike work.
Transition 2
  • 02m 13s
Comments:

I don't know why I was so slow here. I guess I took a long last drink of water.
What would you do differently?:

Work on transitions, need to do some bricks
Run
  • 49m 12s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 07m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt good to actually be passing people. Wish I could do than on the bike and swim. Cadence was good felt pretty comfortable untill the last mile.
What would you do differently?:

Longer training runs and more sprint work.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked had banana water and power ade.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training.

Event comments:

Short bike course and long distance from swim to T1. Also the shuttle busses were awful. I would love to know where the event money went.
