Pre-race routine:

walked over from the hotel to the start early because unsure about the 'security precautions'- watched the Canadian and US Army parachute teams, lined up behind my arch
Event warmup:

none
Run
  • 1h 32m 11s
  • 10 miles
  • 09m 13s  min/mile
Comments:

Big race w/ lots of people but the first couple of miles were particularly packed because many people seemed to take the wave start/line up by seeded bibs as a suggestion- which they soundly ignored! I spent the first couple miles weaving around people that should theoretically have started in the second wave. May have slowed my time a little but... Overall, nice race. So many people that I really didn't pay much attention to the sights.
What would you do differently?:

actually be trained to RACE a ten mile rather than just run a 10 mile. About 25 sec per mile slower average pace than a 15 K that I ran in May but IM taper and then recovery has left me relatively deconditioned. Lots of work to do before Goofy in January.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked back a little ways to watch for my Mom.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

being conditioned to run rather than race a 10 miler
just not being a very good runner anyway

Event comments:

Good course, good organization, get quite a lot for your entry fee. Lesson learned though is to line up further forward than you think that you should if you follow rules because otherwise you'll get caught behind the people that don't. Mom wished cameras had been allowed.
