Swim
Comments: Race official significantly changed the swim course this year... much shorter. DThey didn't do a great job of explaining the peculiararites of the differences, but we pretty much figured it out. With a shorter swim, there was a lot more crowding/contact. What would you do differently?: Nothing really... I don't feel extremely motivated to swim a lot faster. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good T1! Maybe rubberbanding my shoes might have shaved another 10 sec. What would you do differently?: Prepping shoes, but otherwise good. Bike
Comments: Going up was slower than I wanted, but I still did well. After rounding the corner up top, I came up to speed fast (which reinforces the head wind). Rode down fast and passed many others in front of me. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: Shoes got a bit stuck going on... otherwise good T2 Run
Comments: I was so tired! This is a pretty disappointing run time... I was really hoping for a minute faster. Note: I measured the run on Map my ride and found that it was 3.21 miles long... my run split wasn't as bad as I thought! What would you do differently?: More speed work... I definately had more running in this year. Post race
Event comments: The new organization putting this together needs a little guidance and help to make this a top notch race. Their obvious scrambling at the start of the race was a sign of a lack of preparation. Keeping everyone around for an hour and a half to announce results that were being readily supplied by a digital timing company seems like a waste of the technology available. The run course was 'odd' with stairs in th first mile of the 5k and more volunteers on the bike would have been safer and less confusing. Last updated: 2013-05-07 12:00 AM
