  • Comments: Organizers did a better job with the run this year. transition managment was good. They need a larger PA system for the swim start (even a referee whistle would have helped). They are waiting hours to present awards, and this year no AG awards. Frustrating to wait and then find that out.

  • Comments: The new organization putting this together needs a little guidance and help to make this a top notch race. Their obvious scrambling at the start of the race was a sign of a lack of preparation. Keeping everyone around for an hour and a half to announce results that were being readily supplied by a digital timing company seems like a waste of the technology available. The run course was 'odd' with stairs in th first mile of the 5k and more volunteers on the bike would have been safer and less confusing.

  • Comments: Fun race... wish they had more aid stations and port-a-potties. Good spectator event!

  • Comments: Swim start waves were a bit wacky. Also the bike/run in and out were in the same location so if you were racked close (I was this year) it was an advantage. If you were racked far (I was last year) it was a disadvantage. It was not a big difference. Maybe 50 feet.

  • Comments: Overall, I've been logging on BT for over three years now and I just now finished my first tri. It was awesome! I definiately feel like its something that I could get really good at if I just do the work. Who knows how good I could get. I think my best distance would be 70.3. I'm just glad that I really enjoyed it!

  • Comments: I drove 700 miles in three days to do the 1 mile OW race the first day, and then drive to the sprint tri. I love to drive but this did not help my last minute preparation for the tri or recovery from the swim.

  • Comments: Deschutes Dash is a fun race. It is perfect for the first-timer. The Olympic is the day before the Sprint. People that do both races get a special award! Very cool. This is a must-do race for any Northwesterner!

  • Comments: Viewer friendly and pretty decent course, but it would be nice if this was more downtown through Drake Park instead. The dirt path and trails on the run were very narrow in spots. The event was well put together and there was plenty of food at the end. I was really hoping they would give out medals similar to last years race which were cowbells, but instead we received a water bottle with the event on it as a finishers medal. The event was also susposed to have beer at the finish and did not. Great volunteers and very well organized especially since they had to make a lot of course changes from prior years (this is the first that I have done, but it is also the first year they have done an OLY and I believe the race normally finishes in the concert area)

  • Comments: The race was not scheduled to start until 9 am. It started on time but this was way too late, especially since the oldest athletes were in the last and hottest waves. My wave did not take off until 9:55 am.

  • Comments: The start time was too late for the potential excessive heat at this time of year in central Oregon. It was really hot!!! I got to hot in my wetsuit!
