Pre-race routine:

Had a bagel and PB, and gatorade about and hour and a half before the race. Drove from my parents house to the race site, about an hour.
Event warmup:

Stretched a little. Milled around and met some other BT'ers: Clifford (cbarnes), Sharon (Sharona1973), and Gina (grvfrog).
Swim
  • 18m 47s
  • 875 yards
  • 02m 09s / 100 yards
Transition 1
  • 01m 57s
Comments:

I think this swim course was long based on the fact that I freestyled the whole 800m and was slower than the 800m swim at Metroplex a month earlier, which I swam a lot of on my back and breaststroke.
What would you do differently?:

Sight better.
Bike
  • 51m 31s
  • 15.53 miles
  • 18.09 mile/hr
Comments:

The day before the race, I did a 35 mile ride that ended up a little harder than I thought it would be. It was a new course, and I didn't know it was as hilly as it was. This race was a long training day in prep for the Oly in Alaska, so I wasn't too bummed about my performance.
What would you do differently?:

Go lighter the previous day, or take it completely off.
Transition 2
  • 02m 32s
Comments:

I had to walk up the hill coming out of transition because my knees were hurting.
Run
  • 36m 1s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 11m 35s  min/mile
Comments:

Since this race was just a long training day and my knees were a wreck, I didn't really care how I performed on this run. I just wanted to finish without hurting too bad.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing considering the purpose of the race.
Post race
Warm down:

Milled around and ate a banana and an orange, and drank some water and gatorade. They had a pasta meal after the race that was great!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was just a training day, so I didn't go too hard. Plus I had a longish ride the day before.

Event comments:

This was a fun, and pretty challenging race. They had a pasta dinner the night before and after the race that was fantastic! I'll definitely do this race again!
