Swim
Comments: never did OWS (or pool swim) of anything near to this distance so I had concerns about my endurance. Started off pretty easy and then just settled into a rhythm and then "Just Keep Swimming". One concern of mine was chop since it was pretty windy. The further out we got, the worse the chop got. I was very happy to make the turnaround and head back toward shore. I had a little trouble with navigating on the way back, twice ending up on the wrong side of the buoy line, but never a real problem. Turned on the speed a bit with probably about 3-400 left. Once done, I was surprised that it never seemed too difficult, even though I wasn't used to the distance. All that pool swimming is paying off. What would you do differently?: now that I know I can go the distance, be a bit more aggressive and work harder at staying on some feet. Post race
Event comments: a low-key event; pre-race issues with not enough porta pots caused everything to go off late. Good event for a good cause Last updated: 2013-07-28 12:00 AM
