  • Comments: I really liked this race. It was only the 2nd year of this race, and the first year was only 5 people, so it had the potential of being one of those disorganized inaugural races, with it being full at 100 people. But Tim Beatty did really well, and pulled it off. There's a real nice family atmosphere for this race, as the Beatty family are all here in memory of their beloved. I took this race to be just a "fun run" type of swim, and I think that is the way they want to run it. Just out there for fun. Some people wore wetsuits, but most did not. It was neither encouraged or discouraged, as it's just a fun swim. After the swim, you have showers available, and the Beatty family had a nice cookout and we all hung around as if part of the family. Highly recommended. Good to have a 2 mile swim nearby, and cheap at that. Benefits Pancreatic Cancer Research.
