Swim
Comments: Water was nice temp, cool and comfortable. There was a ton of vegetation, and it was hard to swim at times with it hanging all over my goggles, timing chip, basically everything. Made a couple of off course moves, but nothing major. Must have had to pass about 50 people of so, which made it difficult. Transition 1
Comments: It was a decent run from the lake up to T1. Took my time here to make sure I had everything. Applied some of the lube for the crotchel region. What would you do differently?: Not much here. May train on these more, so I'm more comfortable. Bike
Comments: I was happy with this, wish I could have got the avg up to 20MPH, but effort was good here. Never really pushed it too hard. What would you do differently?: Be a little more aggressive on the down hills, not much. Transition 2
Comments: Again, not very experienced here. Could have done it quicker. Took my time applied some paste to the nether regions to limit an rubbing. What would you do differently?: Learn to do these more efficiently. Run
Comments: ITB issues after mile 6. First 6 were around 10/mile, second half was mostly min run/ min walk. Was in lots of pain for last 5 miles. What would you do differently?: Don't know if I could have done anything different on race day. Need more strength for the IT support. Post race
Warm down: None. too much pain. What limited your ability to perform faster: ITB pain Event comments: Somewhat unorganized. Some volunteers were sleeping, not paying attention, or just not there at times. They ran out of water on a stop, which was a double stop. (passed twice) This wasn't all of them. Some were great. The lady with the oranges was my savior. Cold water and the orange slices got me through the back half. Last updated: 2013-10-07 12:00 AM
