  • Events on time?Yes

  • Lots of volunteers to help?No
  • Plenty of drink stations?No

  • Post race activities? Below average
  • Overall course based on my ability: Just right

  • Comments: More volunteers needed and those volunteers need to actually engage more and direct more. I also think there was an issue with the timing chips.

  • Comments: Somewhat unorganized. Some volunteers were sleeping, not paying attention, or just not there at times. They ran out of water on a stop, which was a double stop. (passed twice) This wasn't all of them. Some were great. The lady with the oranges was my savior. Cold water and the orange slices got me through the back half.

  • Comments: the run course needs better designing, too many turns and going back and forth from trail to rough road, at one point you have to run on very soft sand but had the course been moved two feet over, sand could have been avoided and run on concrete, minimal volunteers, not enough water stations, and volunteers were supremely disinterested, there's an important u-turn on the bike near the transition area, not well marked and no one there to give directions, the water bottle exchange guy was not making himself known/visible

  • Comments: Not enough life guards compared to other races, no water was offered at the bottle exchange on the bike course, water on the run course tasted terrible, cheap finishers medal. In addition there was nothing for all of the spectators. No food was sold for them to eat. Not a spectator friendly race unless you bring your own grill and tent.

  • Comments: Small race and disorganized in some regards but all in all it was good and the race site was very nice. Didn't like that there was no water at the only bottle exchange so even though there was plenty of water and food on the run course they got a NO for plenty of drink stations. The run course itself was a bit confusing and I really didn't like the rough trail section. They did have folks out there directing traffic which was nice but I did feel on my own a couple of times out there in the woods.

  • Overall course based on my ability:

  • Comments: I was scared outta my mind going into this race. Had I done enough miles on the bike? Had my runs been worthy? Would my knees hold up? Would I remember my nutrition? This race was great. For the first time, I felt like a true triathlete. I had fun, ignored the pain or dealt with it, and raced my race. I loved the distance, I loved the course, I had 100% control over my mind and didn't let it get the better of me. I think focusign on others helped me not focus on myself. Even though I didn't hit the numbers I wanted to, I am more then thrilled with my performance!

  • Comments: Run by a small organization (mom & pop). Course was very nice. Volunteers were helpful and are always appreciated. Run course was a little confusing but was fairly well marked. It was a huge step up from the last race I did with this organization.

  • Comments: This was first time they had done a HIM. They need to make some improvements..port a potty on bike and second aid station; volunteers who remain upright and engaged so we know where to go on run course; run course is like a crazy maze and very confusing with signs as there were two distances running at the same time plus a du. No food for spectators to buy or eat. My family was stuck in the park for 8+ hours with only snacks we had in car. Hard to leave and come back as they didn't want to miss me or give up their parking spot. Folks directing us where to park to be time efficient. Plus things...great folks doing the race; good vibe about the race; venue is great (can camp or rent cabins which we didn't know), great technical ts , I see a lot of potential but some bugs need to be worked out.
