Swim
Comments: Typical suck-fest for me. This is something I am DETERMINED to figure out this season. I just want to swim CLOSE to my ability in the pool. I can do so much better than this, but as soon as I get in OW, my breathing gets awful and my form turns bad. Transition 1
Comments: Waved to the boys. Chris had put my rear light on for me earlier in the day, and I realized as I was leaving T1 that I had no idea how to turn it on!! (You were required to have a head and tail light for this race). I yelled to Jeff and he told me how to do it, so once I got going on the bike I reached behind me and got it on. Bike
Comments: Bike was fun. I felt great and knowing it was a short course just let me go without worrying about the run after. Can't do too much damage in 10 miles, you know? This course is super easy. No turns, no hills...just ride and ride. I passed a few girls and that was nice. It came back to me, the thrill of the hunt. :) I'm loving that 11-21 cassette. Transition 2
Comments: I felt great and couldn't wait to start the run. This is the point where I started really remembering why I love triathlons so much. It is so much fun!!!! Run
Comments: I loved it. I felt awesome. I am msure I did a negative split because I timed the return and was 12:50. Now, 8:50s may not be fast, but it is so great for me to be out of the 9-10 minute range, mentally. It gives me hope that things will continue to get better and I will hopefully get back to where I was last season, when I ran 8 minute miles on this course after a 20+ bike split. Anyway, felt great, loved the feeling of going hard and fast, loved seeing that Hr up past LT for once. Fun race. Post race
Warm down: Looked at all the pretty lights in transition. Event comments: I love racing in Crystal River. It is by far my favorite local venue. The races are all small but competitive. I have yet to place in my AG up there. It hurts when there are only 6 people in your AG and you place 4th. It was fun to have Chis and Jeff cheering me on. :) After the race we went to Chilis and acted obnoxious as usual. Hoochie mamas UNITE! Last updated: 2006-07-06 12:00 AM
