Swim
Comments: this was a decent swim. After I got over the jitters and slowed my heart rate, I just kept my breathing steady and forced myself to work efficiently. And it worked! Great swim, as far as I'm concerned. Plus I got out with energy! What would you do differently?: I think keep myself calm early Transition 1
Comments: T1 was slow, but I took my time and did what I wanted to do. The wetsuit strip was awesome, and the guy who assisted me in the change tent was great. What would you do differently?: Attempt to move a bit more efficently Bike
Comments: Loop 1 was great. Dropped my salt and advil at some point. Ate nearly too much and stomach was fine. Pizza worked out awesome, as did crack cookies. I went out way too hard and paid for it on the run. Still, I definitely attacked the bike and felt good. What would you do differently?: Pace a bit better especially on the first loop Transition 2
Comments: I handed my bike to a volunteer so there was no running with it. I really really took my time and took forever to get the compression socks on What would you do differently?: Hustle a tad bit more Run
Comments: I was hoping to do a lot better, but no such luck today. Yet at the same point, I can hold my head up high. I finished my first marathon as part of an Ironman! Parents, T's parents, Kris and Mark, and Corie did awesome to keep us happy and motivated. What would you do differently?: I don't know honestly Post race
Warm down: chocolate milk, into sweats, and hugs What limited your ability to perform faster: training of course Event comments: I am so goddamn happy to be done but at the same point, what a blast! Looking forward to my next Ironman! Last updated: 2013-12-02 12:00 AM
