Event warmup:

went for a few strokes... felt more nervous this time

Swim
  • 15m 37s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 05s / 100 meters
Comments:

Had a crappy swim

all went well for first 300m
got kicked in the face - lens started leaking
still sore from rib injuries from MTB crash
What would you do differently?:

Stop being an idiot
i can maintain 1:40-1:45 in the pool
Transition 1
  • 01m 41s
Comments:

better than last time
got to figure out a quicker way to get suit off
What would you do differently?:

Practice at home
Bike
  • 49m 15s
  • 30 kms
  • 36.55 km/hr
Comments:

That was a great ride - did not get passed by any riders - 4 of us were together for most of the ride (not drafting) - this course was perfect for me - can maintain same speed with rolling hills
I could have pushed it again - need to save some for run
started to cramp at 25
Had the same speed as the guy who won my AG - 2nd overall in AG in that group - I guess racing when i was younger helped a lot
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
do more brick so i know better what I can push for 30k
Transition 2
  • 00m 52s
Comments:

I felt good during this transition
keep focused and relaxed
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 37m 28s
  • 7.5 kms
  • 05m  min/km
Comments:

That was a good run for me
maintained under 5 for the most part except first and last 750m
missed one water station has they were goofing around
What would you do differently?:

make sure I drink at every station
Post race
Warm down:

Sat in cooling tent and asked for ice
had some picture taken with recharge with Milk Group
spoke to riders I worked with for 30k
Met a guy from last race - happy as I was with overall results - NICE TO SEE

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat I think
Need to be able to push more
Should have kept up with the AG who passed me at 6k...

Event comments:

Very well / organized race
Location was perfect
Aid station at ~5.5k was poorly manned - missed water as they were goofing around - not to worry though I enjoyed the water at the last station
