Swim
Comments: really good swim all I cared about was making it out without being too winded and ready to handle the heat for the next hour or so. stayed really relaxed and had a good swim What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 1
Comments: increadibly good transition, everything went good rode off with the shoes on the pedals and it went smooth Bike
Comments: hotter then hell on the bike course. It was just yelling "ON YOUR LEFT" for 12 miles. I heard so many "Oh shi* hes only 16" as I was going. It was the best ride Ive had in a triathlon. Lots of gradual hills where I was just blowing by people like they were standing still. I had a guy tell me he saw me and decided to try to stay with me but he said when you started keeping the pace at 28mph that it was too much for him. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2
Comments: another really good transition What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: increadibly hot. When I got out into the sun I took my HR monitor off because it was reading high 180's at a slow jog and I didnt want to get mentally beat up so I took it off and shoved it in my jersey and set off into hell. In the first mile I had a few people blow by me and within the next two miles I saw almost all of them walking saying they had terrible cramps. My toe is still not doing good so I havent had much speed work on many runs at all lately so I just wanted to "out last" as many as I could and it worked pretty good. My legs were cramping bad and my stomach was in knots but I just kept on thinking about how good it would feel when it was over. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: heat. Event comments: really had a good time, good race and tons of good food. Last updated: 2006-07-19 12:00 AM
