Swim
Comments: Obviously slow, but probably wasn't an idea situation for my first OWS ever. Started fine, sighting was shit, but I hung in. I think by the time September comes around this will have straightened out to be a more manageable time. Just need to put the practice in. What would you do differently?: Not suck. Transition 1
Comments: Went fine, putting my shirt on was a bitch. Bike
Comments: First 20 min of the bike was just bringing my HR back down after the dumpster fire of a swim. After that I felt pretty solid, passed a bunch of people which helped the moral. What would you do differently?: Bring more water, started to get thirsty. Transition 2
Comments: Seemed to go well. What would you do differently?: Need somthing to keep sweat out of my eyes that isn't a dorkey visor. Run
Comments: Run was decent, my legs felt fine and again, passing numerous people helped me not be pissed about the swim. Really wanted to keep the run under an hour but whatever. What would you do differently?: Have something to keep sweat out of my eyes, eat some sort of food in T2. Post race
Warm down: Drank a water, Gatorade, and a PBR. Felt good. What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim Event comments: I think for my first tri, and as a warm up to the half Ironman and full Ironman later this summer it was a good start. I know what I need to improve, and it is within the realm of possibility to improve in the time I have left. Last updated: 2014-06-03 12:00 AM

Breakfast of waffle and egg sandwich. 2 waffles, 2 eggs, 1 tsp maple syrup. Ate before we left Chi, so probably around 4:45am. Had a coffee on the way, took a pre-race poop, all was good. All in all, for my first tri I think my pre-race went fairly well, just need to budget a little more time for warm up.
10 min of running, didn't get a chance to swim, wish I would have.
